We're paying around $3.15-$3.20 in our part of the country already. Think about the impact that has on the average middle-class family. Gas is, at least for many people, a fixed part of their monthly budget. If it goes up in price then the money available for anything else correspondingly goes down. What steps can you take to mitigate this potential issue? Well, one thing we're trying is simply to walk wherever we can. This afternoon we made an adventure out of walking to the store with our kids to buy milk. It was great exercise and wonderful outdoor bonding time... And we didn't need to fork out $200 to buy a Wii to accomplish either. Now that's preparedness. ;)
